Greyscapes is an ongoing series of hand-painted photographic prints. Taken in London, it portrays unusual vegetation in unassuming surroundings very close to the photographer as a way to find exuberance in the everyday and to somehow fulfil a constant longing to going back to nature. Shot on black and white film, the prints are later intuitively painted with watercolours, creating a new surreal dimension to the already displaced original settings – what simply starts as a photographic study becomes a personal representation of escapism thanks to this mixed-media process.
